What if I told you that one of the world's greatest cities was started by twins raised by a WOLF?

Rome's Birthday Party: Happy 2,777 Years, Eternal City!

How twin brothers and a wolf started one of history's greatest cities

Rome celebrated its legendary founding with wolf-raised twins and awesome fire-jumping parties!

Every year on April 25th (and April 21st too!), Romans celebrate something AMAZING — the birthday of their incredible city! But wait until you hear HOW Rome supposedly began...

According to ancient legend, twin baby boys named Romulus and Remus were left alone by a river. But guess who found them? A WOLF! Instead of being scary, this mother wolf took care of the babies like they were her own pups. How wild is that?

The twins grew up strong and brave. When they became young men, they decided to build a city. But brothers don't always agree, right? They argued about WHERE to build it. Romulus wanted one hill, Remus wanted another.

Romulus won the argument and started building walls on his hill — the Palatine Hill. And that's how Rome got its name, from Romulus himself!

💡 The ancient Romans were so proud of their founding story that they put pictures of the wolf feeding baby Romulus and Remus on their coins — you can still see these coins in museums today!
