What if I told you a kid from 1646 basically invented the language your computer speaks?

The Day Gottfried Leibniz Was Born!

Meet the genius who invented a new way to do math — and dreamed of thinking machines!

Leibniz invented calculus and imagined computers 300 years before they existed!

On July 1, 1646, a baby was born in Leipzig, Germany, who would grow up to be one of the smartest people EVER! His name was Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and his brain was like a super-powered computer.

Leibniz was curious about EVERYTHING. By age 12, he had taught himself Latin just by reading books! He loved asking big questions like: 'How does the universe work?' and 'Can we make machines that think?'

Here's something amazing: Leibniz invented a whole new kind of math called calculus! It helps us figure out things that are always changing, like how fast a rocket goes or how water flows. Without calculus, we couldn't send astronauts to space or build video games!

But wait — there's more! Leibniz also built one of the first mechanical calculators. Imagine a machine made of gears and wheels that could add, subtract, multiply, AND divide! People thought it was magic, but it was really just super-clever engineering.

💡 Leibniz's idea of using 0s and 1s (called binary code) is the same system that runs every smartphone, computer, and video game console today!
