Percy Shelley was a super imaginative poet who believed stories could change the world!

On August 4, 1792, a baby boy was born in a big fancy house in England who would grow up to become one of the most amazing poets ever! His name was Percy Bysshe Shelley, and boy, was he a dreamer!

Young Percy was full of curiosity and big ideas. As a kid, he loved doing science experiments (some of which went BOOM!) and making up wild stories to tell his younger sisters. He even tried to build a hot air balloon in his backyard!

When Percy grew up, he wrote poems that made people think about fairness, freedom, and using their imaginations. One of his most famous poems was about a giant broken statue in the desert called "Ozymandias" — it taught people that even the mightiest kings don't last forever, but kindness and art do!

Percy believed that poets were like superheroes of the mind. He thought stories and poems could change the world by helping people dream of better things. His wife, Mary Shelley, was pretty amazing too — she wrote "Frankenstein," one of the first science fiction stories ever!
