Meet the Teacher Whose Ideas Changed the World for 2,500 Years

Confucius was born and became history's most famous teacher of kindness and wisdom!

Way back in 551 BCE, in a small town in ancient China, a baby was born who would become one of the most famous teachers in ALL of history! His name was Kong Qiu, but most people know him as Confucius.

Confucius grew up loving to learn. He was curious about EVERYTHING — especially how people could be kinder to each other and make the world a better place. When he grew up, he became a teacher and traveled all around China sharing his big ideas.

What were his ideas? Pretty awesome ones! Confucius taught that everyone should respect their parents and elders. He believed in being honest, working hard, and treating others the way you want to be treated. Sound familiar? That's called the Golden Rule, and Confucius was one of the first people to teach it!

Here's something cool: Confucius didn't write books himself. Instead, his students loved his teachings SO much that they wrote down everything he said! These became famous books that people still read today.
