What if YOUR job was to rebuild an entire city after it burned down?

The Day Sir Christopher Wren Was Born!

Meet the genius who rebuilt London after its biggest disaster

Christopher Wren was born and grew up to rebuild London with 51 amazing churches!

On October 20, 1632, a baby boy was born in England who would grow up to change the way cities look forever! His name was Christopher Wren, and he was about to become one of the greatest architects in history.

But here's the wild part — Christopher didn't start out wanting to build buildings at all! As a kid, he was super into science, math, and even astronomy (studying stars and planets). He was SO smart that by age 14, he had already invented a special tool to help farmers plant seeds!

Then in 1666, something terrible happened: the Great Fire of London. For four days, flames roared through the city, destroying over 13,000 houses and 87 churches. London was a mess of ashes and rubble. What a disaster!

But guess who got called to help? Christopher Wren! King Charles II asked him to rebuild London, and boy, did he deliver! Wren designed an incredible 51 new churches, including his masterpiece: St. Paul's Cathedral. This massive dome is so big that if you whisper on one side, someone on the other side can hear you — 100 feet away!

💡 St. Paul's Cathedral has a 'Whispering Gallery' where whispers travel around the dome — you can hear someone whispering from 100 feet away!
