What if you could sail across the sea with 400 ships and change an entire country's future?
The Day King William III Landed to Save England!
A prince from the Netherlands sailed across stormy seas to become a hero
A Dutch prince sailed 400 ships to England and became king without a big battle!
Picture this: It's November 4, 1688, and a massive fleet of over 400 ships is crossing the choppy English Channel. Leading this incredible armada was William of Orange, a Dutch prince with a bold mission!
William wasn't coming to attack England — he was actually invited! Many English people were unhappy with their king, James II, who they felt wasn't treating them fairly. So they sent a secret letter asking William to come help.
But getting there wasn't easy! Powerful storms nearly wrecked the whole plan. The first attempt had to turn back because of terrible weather. But William didn't give up!
On his second try, something amazing happened. The wind suddenly changed direction — people called it the "Protestant Wind" — and it pushed William's ships straight to England while keeping King James's navy stuck in port!
💡 William's invasion fleet was actually FOUR TIMES bigger than the famous Spanish Armada that tried to invade England 100 years earlier!
